As Apposite Extravaganza: Cheating Progress | Exchange House, Galway | Ireland | 30 June - 8 July 2012
As part of the Volvo Ocean Race Closing Stopover, Let's Do It Galway presents an exhibition of contemporary visual art curated by Jim Ricks (USA). Occupying the first two floors of the Exchange House on Fairgreen Road, the space is over 20,000 square feet and features over 25 artists from, or living in Galway.
Model 1 is a project initiated by the board members of 126 Gallery. The project focuses and reflects on the origins of the gallery (which was originally founded in the front sitting room of a house by local artists as a response to the urgent need for more non-commercial gallery spaces in Galway). The board replicated the space where it all began, building to scale a framework that embodied both the structural, archival and metaphysical ethos that is 126 today.
Artists: Allison Regan, Anne O'Byrne, David Finn, David O'Malley, Lisa Sweeney, Marie Hannon and Matthew Doherty.
